Scarifying is strictly a Spring or Autumn activity. Doing it now will damage the lawn as it cannot recover.
You need mild temps and some rain for the grass to heal.
Scarifying is "surgery" for your lawn. The grass needs to be actively growing (soil temps above 12°C/54°F) to heal the wounds, otherwise moss will just return.
If soil is too dry, machinery damages the roots. If too wet, you'll tear healthy grass out. Aim for moist, firm ground.
